Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Book Photographer creates visual documentation for publishers, designers, artists and cultural institutions.

You can work with the studio on:

    Individual book photography
Careful documentation of books, catalogues, magazines, editions and other printed objects.

    Editorial photography
A broader image series developed for launches, press, websites, social media, awards, distribution and international promotion.

    Art-directed campaigns
Concept development and more complex visual productions involving customised backgrounds, compositions, lighting or props.

    Publisher partnerships
Ongoing photography for publishers and organisations releasing several publications throughout the year. These partnerships offer a more consistent process, priority scheduling and less administration for each new book.

  • Getting started is simple.
Send an enquiry with information about the publication, your preferred timing and how you plan to use the images.

You do not need to know exactly what kind of photography you need. Based on the publication and its intended use, I can recommend the most suitable approach.

  • Because book photography requires more than placing a publication in front of a camera.

A book is a physical object, a communication instrument and the result of many creative decisions. Paper, binding, typography, colour, scale and sequence all influence how it should be photographed.

The studio specialises in books and printed matter. You are therefore not spending time explaining why a particular paper, fold, binding or production detail matters.

You also receive a structured process, clear communication and images prepared for practical use across your website, press materials, social media, catalogues, awards and archives.

  • The Book Photographer Studio is based in Amsterdam and works with clients throughout the Netherlands and internationally.
