At the studio / April 2026

April started just as a sprint: high heart rate, changing scenery.

A visit to Antwerp was so inspiring and...so needed.
Discovering Tique Art Space for books was a joy. Their collection and the space arrangement are really inspiring.
(yes, Welmer, I meant it.)
Actually I’ll be building a new studio shelf inspired by what I saw there.

The month continued at full swing with event production.
The hosting, the enthusiasm of bringing people together. Each event gets easier and more exciting. I’m already looking forward to the next one.
(There’s a real chance I’m getting addicted to this very specific, very beautiful book-event adrenaline 🤭)

The podcast recording with Raddraaier SSP and Jochem Öfner was so interesting.
A full room, and generous conversation.
We spoke about the history of the printing house, but also about something more urgent: how we think about sustainability in printing today.

The episode will be released on 5 May - Liberation Day.

And then, a highlight: a special edition of Books & Wine: A Taste Salon in collaboration with Rebel Wines.

Seeing this project move into new spaces, meet new people, and take on new forms, it’s something I enjoy so much.
Liza (one of the owners) was absolutely amazing. Not only through her stories but also in the way she made knowledge feel accessible, open, and alive.
And it confirmed again: when you change the context, you change the way people look and taste.

We’re already planning to return in autumn. Keep an eye!
And if Books & Wine sounds like something you’d like to bring into your own context: a team gathering, a special event, even a birthday, I’d be happy to create a tailored edition for you.

And it is already possible to reserve your seat at the summer edition at the Ambassade Hotel with wine specialist Dieuwke Engelsma.

And outside the studio, marathon training continues.
I often have moments where I laugh at myself: “What exactly am I doing?” 🤭

But in a strange way, it keeps me grounded. A different kind of endurance, running parallel to the “studio development marathon.”

So two different type of preparations in different forms. One on the road, one in the studio.

Both asking the same thing: keep going, and trust what’s building.

With bookish regards,
Justina
